FTA Collection
Kits and FTA Cards
FTA Cards
(Kits) Bulk
FTA Supplies
FTA DNA Collection Kits are used for Collecting Buccal (cheek)
Cells or Blood Samples
Ordering is
Easy!
Each kit is
pre-assembled with all components necessary for the DNA collection
and long-term storage
of DNA utilizing the FTA Classic Card.
FTA single collection kits and bulk supplies are
excellent for:
 |
Patented FTAŽ Cards provide a
safe, secure
and reliable method for the collection,
transport, and safe room temperature storage of DNA. |
 |
When cells are applied to FTA Cards, the cells
are lysed and the nucleic acids are immobilized and stabilized
within the FTA Card's matrix. |
 |
Genomic DNA stored on FTA Cards at room
temperature for over 11 years exhibits no loss in PCR
efficiency (proven). Expected storage length is over 50
years. |
 | FTAŽ is a chemical treatment, which allows for the
rapid isolation of pure
DNA. When samples are applied to FTAŽ-treated paper, cell
lysis occurs and high molecular weight DNA is immobilized
within the matrix. Amplification or restriction enzyme
digestion can be performed directly on the treated paper
without the need for extensive extraction procedures.
Features of the FTA Card:
 |
Rapid isolation of pure DNA
|
 |
Designed to kill pathogens and
prevent future colonization by bacteria or fungi
|
 |
Protects DNA from microbial and
environmental degradation
|
 |
Archive samples at room
temperature
|
 |
Reduces potential for
cross-contamination between samples
|
 | Eliminates shearing forces associated with
conventional extraction methods |
|
 |
FTA Cards rapidly inactivate organisms
including blood borne pathogens and prevent the growth of
bacteria and other microorganisms. |
 |
Samples collected on FTA Cards
are so
safe
they can be shipped via regular US Postal Service without
hazardous labeling. |
 | Simply apply the sample to
the FTA Card
and store long-term or send to DNA Testing Centre, Inc for
analysis. The FTA Card can be used for the following samples:
 |
Buccal Cells |
 |
Blood |
 |
Cultured Cells |
 |
Solid Tissue |
 |
...and more |
