Important Ordering and Shipping Information - Please Read!
| The cost includes testing of one normal size garment (underwear,
pants, shirt) or 2" diameter stain.
Please call to discuss pricing for large items such as
blankets. |
| There are no shipping charges unless we need to mail you
a kit to obtain your cheek swab for a DNA extraction. |
| We will provide instructions for mailing your sample(s)
by email, fax or phone once you place your order. |
| You must obtain a serial number for your test prior to
sending it in (does not apply to money order purchases). |
| If your article is large such as a sweater, coat, or
blanket, please cut out and send in only the area to
be tested. Most testing is destructive to the
material provided (unless
non-destructive test is ordered) and holes will
be punched or cut in the tested area. |

Important information about these studies
| The results of these studies are not normally admissible in a court of law
due to the absence of the chain of custody. The chain of custody refers to
the various chains of "hands" that the individual sample passes
through. A legal chain of custody requires the samples to be collected in
the presence of a neutral third party at a lab or hospital facility, where
all parties are photographed to verify their identity, and specific handling
instructions are met. |

| When DNA extraction is required, it is not guaranteed.
The sample may not contain DNA or it may be
contaminated. We go through great lengths to extract the
DNA when it does not work on the first attempt. There
could be delays and/or extraction failure. There is no
refund if extraction is a failure. Extraction failure is
rare but if you have any doubts please call us at 817-283-4774
to discuss the sample. |
| DNA is found in sperm, not semen. If an individual is vasectomized or
azoospermic (producing no sperm), DNA will only be available
from the epithelia cells shed during ejaculation. The success
rate of DNA extraction of a vasectomized or azoospermic
individual is greatly reduced but still possible. |

determine if a stain or fluid is semen with or without the presence of sperm.

These tests are preformed:
| Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) . Unlike the acid phosphatase
presumptive test, detection of the PSA requires
the presence of the semen protein without the need of the target
to perform an enzymatic function. No longer will semen
detections be presumptive (additional
PSA information). |
| Microscopic inspection - The substance is
wet mounted and examined under a high power microscope for
the presence of sperm. |
| Acid Phosphatase (AP) - This is a 97% presumptive
test for the enzyme PH level found primarily in semen.
This test will indicate the mass of the semen if positive. |
|

This test normally takes 1-2 business days (Monday
through Friday). Guaranteed same day service is available at an
additional charge.

A buccal swab sample is obtained by swabbing your mouth with two cotton
swabs (one per cheek).

Order the condom matching if you would like to
know if the cells on the outside of the condom matches a DNA sample you
provide. There is only a 50% chance of DNA being extracted from
the outside of the condom. You are
charged for the complete cost of the test even if it is unsuccessful.
The rate of success is dependent on the type of condom and the type of
lubricants (if any).
We will ship you a kit to obtain a buccal swab
sample of the potential matching party. Place the condom in a paper envelope and return
the kit with the prepaid overnight mailer.
This test can take up to 3 weeks. The lab will
attempt multiple methods of extraction if failure occurs.

DNA Comparison
Order the DNA comparison if you would like to have a
DNA profile found within a stained area (no larger
than 2" diameter).
You can provide comparison samples to be included in
the report at a cost of $130.00.
Each specific comparison test against a provided
sample is an additional $60.00.
Here is an example of the usefulness of this test:
John heard from a close friend that his wife, Jane,
was having sex with multiple partners. When she returned home late
one night and immediately took a shower, he confronted her and obtained
her panties. She denied the accusations and he sent her panties in
for analysis.

Upon completion of the DNA comparison test, 3 DNA profiles were found. Jane said the DNA was most likely
John's and hers. |
|
John provided a cheek swab from himself and
from Jane. |
|
One profile matched Jane's to prove that she
wore the panties, and none matched John's. Jane continued
to maintain her innocence. |
|
John continued to obtain samples from the
suspects. Once he obtained a
specific matching profile he ordered a specific comparison
test. The results provided a conclusive report
that a sample from her panties matched his ex-friends' swab. |

after producing the conclusive report. |
